    Her career has taken her from Germany, Afghanistan and a number of Canadian provinces. The base she holds command over trains (on average) 15, 000 military personnel each year. Located 100 kilometers north of Toronto, it employs 3,250 members of the military and around 1, 500 civilians. At 45 years of age, she has become the first woman in the entire country to hold position of Wing Commander in Gander, N.L - one of Canada’s biggest search and rescue areas.

    Asked if she’s a feminist, Harris said she wouldn’t use the word to describe herself. Although then added that she’s “an advocate for women having choice” and thinks that more young women’s stories need to be told.
